User's Guide: Template Editor: Base HTML

This is where you can edit the HTML for a template. Every aspect of the rendered output can be customized here, and you can preview what the rendered pages will look like. Once you preview a template, a temporary folder is created inside the program folder. You can place images, stylesheets and other files in this folder to have them used when you click the Preview button with that template. You should be able to explore to this folder easily on the Start screen.

This is the base HTML used when generating pages. It contains the necessary {TAGS} to render the links to other pages, the title/description & metadata for search engine positioning, as well as the look and feel of your pages.

You can do virtually anything you like to this template, to make the pages fit into your existing site however you see fit. It is recommended you never use the default template except for testing purposes, as many sites using the same template tends to make the search engines not like your pages anymore. Try to be unique and original and create your own custom templates to use with your websites.

The default HTML when you create a new template illustrates the {TAGS} available to be used, and how we suggest you place them. You are not limited in any way as you can customize how the HTML that each {TAG} will contain is generated on the Links and Content tabs. You may omit any or all of the {TAGS} if you wish, although the pages generated will be much less unique.
